The Intelix
DIGI-HDMI-IR transmits a high-definition HDMI signal and an
IR signal up to 150 feet over two inexpensive twisted pair cables,
such as Cat 5e or Cat 6. The DIGI-HDMI-IR supports 480i, 480p,
720p, 1080i, and 1080p high-definition video and is HDCP compliant.
Each DIGI-HDMI-IR includes one send unit, one receive unit,
one power supply, one IR emitter, one IR receiver, and two mounting
brackets. The system is powered on the receive end. Power and
status LEDs provide visual diagnostics. The DIGI-HDMI-IR features
electostatic discharge (ESD) protection circuitry which safegaurds
the HDMI circuit against static electricity and other destructive
stray voltage.

Example
System 1: A DVD player is connected to a remote plasma
over 150 feet of twisted pair cable. IR signals are sent
from the remote location, into the receive balun, through
the twisted pair cable, out of the send balun, and into
the DVD player. The system is powered on the receive end.

When
shouldn't I use baluns? |

The Intelix DIGI-HDMI-IR
is HDCP compatible; however,
you must verify your source and destination devices
support (or don't support) HDCP encryption.
Essentially, HDCP compliant
devices will only transmit to or receive from other
devices with HDCP coding. The Intelix DIGI-HDMI-IR balun
will also work if neither device is HDCP compatible. |
