HDMI-2X8 HDMI Distribution Amplifier |
|
The Intelix
HDMI-2X8 is not a standard 2 input by 8 output distribution
amplifier. Insteadm it features two independent inputs--an HDMI
input, as well as a DVI input with optional digital SPDIF or
optical audio. When the DVI/digital audio source is selected,
the HDMI-2X8 automatically converts the signal to the HDMI format
and routes it to two HDMI outputs. Front panel source selection
provides switching between the HDMI and DVI/digital audio inputs.
Multiple HDMI-2X8s may be linked for more than two outputs.
The HDMI-2X8 supports resolutions up to 1080p and is HDCP compliant.
The HDMI-2X8 is rack-mountable and includes rack ears.

When
routing high-definition video, Intelix does not
recommend using twisted pair extenders on the
output of the HDMI-2X8, as the HDMI DDC and HDCP
signals may be overly weakened. Intelix recommends
using component video equipment (such as the Intelix
HDDA-8-F and AVO-
V3AD-F) for HD video splitting and twisted
pair distribution. |

|

The Intelix HDMI-2X8 may
be linked, or "daisy-chained", when more than
two outputs are required. Keep in mind, however, signal
loss is increased with every added HDMI-2X8 and balun
thrown into the mix.
In application, this loss
is usually unnoticed by the user; a clean picture will
be maintained when using four, five, or even six HDMI-2X8s
with short patch cables. But if more than 30 feet of
cable connects each unit, the picture may be affected.
