V1-AR-F Extended Distance Composite Video Balun

The Intelix V1-AR-F balun is an ideal solution for transmitting composite video over extremely long distances; a common application in security systems. Simply connect an Intelix V1-AR-F to the receive device and a passive composite video balun--such as the Intelix AVO-V1-F or AVO-V1-ST-F--to the source device. The V1-AR-F features automatic gain control and ground loop blocking to ensure reliable and stable image quality. The V1-AR-F was discontinued on July 23, 2007.

Example System

Example System 1: The video from a remote security camera mounted on a streetlight is transmitted through a V1-ST-F to a V1-AR-F over 5000 feet of Cat 5 cable. The V1-AR-F boosts and stabilizes the image before sending it to the video switcher. Because the V1-ST-F and V1-AR-F features screw terminals and not RJ45 connectors, the Cat 5 cable shield must be stripped back so that the four individual cable pairs are accessible. Example System

Example System 2: The video from three remote security cameras is routed to a digital video recorder (DVR) via five V1-ST-F baluns and one V1-AR-F balun; the V1-AR-F is used for an extended Cat 5 run of 5000 feet. The V1-ST-F baluns are compact enough to be connected directly to the BNC connectors on the cameras and DVR. Because the V1-ST-Fs and V1-AR-F feature screw terminals and not RJ45 connectors, the Cat 5 cable shield must be stripped back so that the four individual cable pairs are accessible.
