VGADA-2 VGA Distribution Amplifier |
|
The
Intelix VGADA-2 is an ideal accessory for VGA baluns or as a
stand-alone 1x2 VGA distribution amplifier. It provides two
RGBHV (VGA) outputs from a single source and is typically used
in computer applications where several monitor outputs are required.
Multiple VGADA-2 amplifiers may be linked when more than two
outputs are required. The VGADA-2 may be powered by either the
included DC power supply or via a USB cable from the computer.
|
Example System |
Example System 1: Video from a laptop computer is routed to two
remote monitors over Cat 5 cabling. Because the remote monitors are
located in different locations, the video is split by a VGADA-2 and
then transmitted by a VGA-HR and VGA-UHR balun.
|
|
Example System |
Example System 2: Video from a laptop computer is routed to two
remote monitors over 550 feet of Cat 5 cabling. A VGA cable connects the
laptop to a send VGA-UHR balun, which transmits the signal over Cat 5
cable. The signal is then reconverted by a receive VGA-UHR balun, which
is connected to a VGADA-2 distribution amplifier via a VGA cable. The
VGADA-2 amplifies the signal and splits it for two outputs.

|
Example System |
Example System 3: A laptop computer is routed to three remote
monitors. To accommodate three outputs, two 1x2 VGADA-2 VGA amplifiers
are required. A VGA cable connects the laptop to the first VGADA-2.
Output one on the VGADA-2 feeds the first remote monitor and output two
feeds a second VGADA-2. Outputs one and two on the second VGA feed a
second and third remote monitor.

The Intelix VGADA-2 may be linked, or
"daisy-chained", when more than two outputs are required (as shown
in example
system 3). Keep in mind, however, signal loss is increased with
every added VGADA-2 and balun thrown into the mix.
In application, this loss is usually
unnoticed by the user; a clean picture will be maintained when using
four, five, or even six VGADA-2s with short patch cables. But if 500
feet of cable connects each unit, the picture may be affected.
